Job Summary: We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Manager- Indirect Taxes (Customs) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all customs regulations and laws for goods entering or leaving the country. Your duties will include reviewing documentation, assessing duties and taxes, post facto analysis of data, enforcing customs regulations to facilitate safe and efficient trade, assistance in drafting to Notices, liaison with Department officials and briefing to legal Counsels.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct review of documents to ensure compliance with customs regulations.
- Verify declarations and documentation submitted by importers/exporters.
- Assess duties, taxes, and fees applicable for clearance.
- Post facto review of data.
- Identify and stich discrepancies in the import process to de-risk the company
- Coordinate with other government agencies and law enforcement agencies, to facilitate customs litigations.
- Provide guidance and assistance to importers/exporters regarding customs procedures and requirements to cross-functional teams.
- To assist the IT team to prepare reports on customs activities.
- Stay updated on changes in customs laws, regulations, and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Customs Administration, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field, Chartered Accountant, MBA.
- Proven 2-3 years’ experience in customs clearance, import/export compliance, or related
field.
- Knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Certification or training in customs procedures (preferred).
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications (e.g., customs management software, MS Office).- Added advantage.
