Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

The Group Business Controller is responsible for the overall financial control, planning, and reporting across multiple business units or subsidiaries within the group. This role combines financial management with strategic decision-making to optimize business performance and profitability. The Group Business Controller will collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to provide insights, ensure robust financial governance, and lead the finance teams across the group.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
• Lead group-wide budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for business improvement.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management to drive profitability and efficiency.

2. Group Consolidation & Reporting:
• Oversee the timely and accurate consolidation of financial reports from all business units.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and performance metrics.
• Ensure financial reporting aligns with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and internal policies.

3. Business Partnering:
• Work closely with business unit leaders to understand key financial drivers, challenges, and strategic initiatives.
• Support business decision-making by providing financial analysis and advisory on cost control, investments, and profitability.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, contributing to the group’s long-term strategic objectives.

4. Performance Management & KPIs:
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial performance across the group.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial performance through proactive analysis and initiatives.
• Ensure alignment of financial targets with overall business strategy.

5. Risk Management & Internal Controls:
• Identify, assess, and manage financial risks across the group, ensuring that robust internal controls are in place.
• Lead compliance with financial regulations and audit requirements across all units.
• Improve financial processes and internal controls to enhance governance and operational efficiency.




6. Strategic Initiatives & Investments:
• Support Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) activities, including due diligence, financial modeling, and post-merger integration.
• Evaluate capital expenditure, business expansions, and other strategic investments from a financial perspective.
• Provide insights into new market opportunities and their financial implications.

7. Leadership & Team Development:
• Lead and mentor the finance team across various business units, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
• Build strong relationships with finance teams in each subsidiary to ensure consistent and accurate financial reporting.
• Promote a high standard of financial control and transparency throughout the group.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:


Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; professional certification e.g., CA, preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in financial controlling, financial reporting, or a similar role in a multinational company or group environment.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, group consolidation, and financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP). Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills required.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data and develop meaningful insights for decision-making.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams in a group setting; strong stakeholder management skills.
• Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and explain financial concepts to non-finance professionals.
